After an almost 4 month dispute, the NFL owners and the referees have reached an agreement. The referees formed a union and locked themselves out because they felt that 6 figures wasn't enough for a part time job. Granted, they spend a lot of time reviewing the rules, it's still a part time job. While they were locked out, the NFL hired a bunch of college and high school refs that did a less than ideal job. For instance, the Green Bay Packers-Seattle Seahawks Monday Night Football game was decided by a controversial call where two referees signaled different calls. One being touchdown and the other being a touchback. The touchback would've made the Packers win, and the touchdown would've made the Seahawks win. After review, it was declared a touchdown. Now we can't be sure what would've been called had there been the real referees, but we can only imagine.
