93 year old Frank Tanabe was terminally ill after being in the final stages of inoperable liver cancer and was still able to cast an absentee ballot. He was unable to personally fill it out, but he had his daughter Irene say the candidates' names and he would respond with a nod or a shake of the head. Irene took pictures of her father voting and posted them on Facebook. Her son took those pictures and posted them on Reddit where it exploded and went viral. Throughout his life, Frank never missed a single presidential election. A few days after filling out the ballot, he passed away.

Lance Armstrong dropped by Nike
Lance Armstrong has been dropped by Nike in the wake of his doping allegations. Lance won seven straight Tour de France's from 1999 to 2005. That's when he was accused of using performance enhancing drugs, after winning a bout with testicular cancer. Lance has yet to fail a drug test so, in my opinion, this was a knee jerk reaction by Nike. Not only did Nike drop him, he also dropped down as chairman for Lance Armstrong Foundation for cancer support. Some assume because he did that that the allegations are true, but it's more so to save the foundation's image and keep it from getting tainted. He fought allegations for years prior, but finally decided to stop and step down. People are even stopping wearing the yellow Livestrong bracelets which I find absolutely absurd.

Jerry Sandusky Proclaims Innocence
Despite victims coming forward saying Jerry Sandusky molested them and other boys, he still attempts to play innocent. In a jail tape, Jerry proceeded to say, "They could take away my life, they could make me out as a monster, they could treat me as a monster, but they can't take away my heart. In my heart, I know I did not do these alleged disgusting acts."
Jerry went on to say he was accused falsely and that criticized the judge of bringing the case to trial too quickly.
It wouldn't be a blog of mine without a little bit of my opinion in there, so here goes. In his tape, Sandusky stated that they can't take away his heart. I can't even begin to see where he comes off with that. You have no heart. You molested boys for nearly two decades and you don't think you did anything wrong. Last thing that has to be said, avoid the showers. You'll get what's coming to you.

The Biggest Waste of Money since Mars!
Instead of using $1 BILLION to help our country's crumby economy, we're drilling to the mantle of Earth. If we were to strike oil or use something that we find down there for a new power source, that'd reverse my point of view on this topic, but as of now I'm against it wholeheartedly. They'd be drilling through the oceanic crust 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) to reach the core. I wouldn't be so upset about the matter if they didn't have poor reasons, like holding clues to our origin and the evolution of the planet. Some scientists are comparing it to that of the Apollo Moon missions, which I also find to be a waste of money along with NASA in general.

1 Week old Puppy Buried Alive
Over the weekend in Williston, a town in Florida, a puppy was buried alive. The only thing that alerted Police Chief Dennis Strow of the puppy's presence was it's whimper. Had he not been destroying evidence (via court order), or not been in that area, the puppy probably wouldn't be alive right now. The piece of trash that buried the innocent puppy hasn't been found or has come forward yet. In my personal opinion, people who do things like this, or abuse an animal for that matter, don't deserve to be alive. Granted, I don't know the circumstance of what happened, but that's just unforgivable. On a lighter note, one of the veterinarian technicians has taken the puppy homed and named him Tucker.
